AMMPS Publishes an important communication regarding the safety monitoring of cosmetics and personal hygiene products
(10 December 2025)
This form is a vital tool for consumers, healthcare professionals, and professionals in the cosmetics sector to report any undesirable effects (such as skin reactions, rashes, allergies, etc.) suspected to be caused by using a cosmetic or personal hygiene product (creams, lotions, shampoos, deodorants, etc.). This surveillance, known as cosmetovigilance, is essential for ensuring the safety of products available on the market.
Key Points:
Purpose: To facilitate the structured reporting of any undesirable effect (e.g., irritation, allergy, skin reaction) suspected to be linked to a cosmetic or personal hygiene product.
Who can report: Primarily consumers and healthcare professionals (dermatologists, pharmacists, doctors). Professionals in the cosmetics industry are also required to report incidents.
How report: Once completed, the form shall be submitted to cométovigilance@ammps.gov.ma
Why report: Each report helps health authorities like the AMMPS monitor product safety after they are on the market, identify potential risks, and take necessary measures to protect consumers.
Access the Official Form (French):
The official form and related instructions can be found on the AMMPS website. We encourage consumers and professionals to use this channel to contribute to collective safety.https://ammps.sante.gov.ma/actualites/details/notification-des-evenements-indesirables-lies-a-l-utilisation-des-produits-cosmetiques-ou-d-hygiene-corporelle
For Our International Readers:
While this form is in French and intended for the Moroccan market, the principle of reporting adverse effects for cosmetics exists in many regions (e.g., the CPNP in the EU, reporting to the FDA in the USA). We share this information as part of our commitment to consumer safety and regulatory transparency.Important Disclaimer: This post shares official information from the AMMPS. It is not medical advice. If you experience a severe or concerning reaction to a product, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional.
